8:00 am to 2:20 pm
Breakfast will be served from 7:30 - 7:55 AM. Students who eat breakfast will meet with their class outside at the designated areas. It is imperative that parents please make the necessary arrangements to ensure that their child (ren) is on time and promptly picked up at the end of the day if they are not enrolled in afterschool.

Ms. Moore asked how many years can a person sit on the SLT?
Safety meeting: Blue Whale game discussed as a means of having students mutilate themselves. Parents need to be made aware of that and 13 Reasons Why on Netflix.
Spring Education conference: Ms. Khalid attended a workshop about Mindfulness and using meditation, focusing in and using their breathing. Gratitude: thinking about something that bothers you, think about something positive and rethink about the thing that bothers you. You tend to not be bothered by the issue again. Ms. JnBaptist thinks it would be a good workshop for the staff.
JB: 4th graders are taking exams, all students are taking end of the year exams. Science fair held June 20th. I ordered books for each child to take home for the end of the year. PTA can you buy some books for each child. We just spent $800 for step shirts and family day. All the children’s names are on the shirts. District 5 Family day is Saturday, June 10th at Riverbank State Park. 5th graders have donations from Ms. Wynemo for the senior trip. Summer school 7/5 – 8/11 at P.S. 36 8-2:30. Looking at children’s portfolios. Grades 2-5, Monday through Thursday. Summer Bridge program for 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th at P.S. 154. Summer in the City program not just academics but some STEM programs. Harlem Dowling will be here for the afterschool program Monday - Friday. Spelling Bee June 8th. Madori program June 1st at P.S. 36. Spring Festival at P.S. 125 on Saturday, June 3rd.
School backpacks given out to students who were in temporary housing included a school uniform, books and supplies.
Spinners are not safe and will be collected. The spinners are to be kept at home. There was a report of a child swallowing the metal piece and it was lodged in the throat.
Students are asked to be dressed appropriately. Closed shoes are required as well as uniforms. One teacher’s class was moved to accommodate the class because the a/c doesn’t work.
Funding for the SEL program given and the Inside Voices program. Students were excited to see adults act out their scripts. Asking for funding for the A/C replacements.
We are now a Community School. Mental Health Clinic and Attendance are going to be key to address for next school year.
SLT members reviewed the CEP to determine how we could make adjustments for the following school year.

The Healthy and Ready to Learn (HRL) Initiative a pilot program through the Children's Health Fund which aims to address health issues that negatively impact students' learning. We welcome their return to PS 36 for their third year.
HRL will address health barriers to learning that affect students' behavior, cognition, ability to attend school, and/or ability to be attentive during school such as poorly controlled asthma, vision problems, anemia and more. Read More
